Matador Arms has recently moved from Canada to the USA. Shortly after the relocation, the company announced a new US-made product – the AR9 80% 9mm lower receiver. Let’s take a closer look and see what features this 80% pistol caliber carbine lower receiver packs.
Matador Arms @ TFB:
Matador Arms AR9 80% 9mm lower receiver is machined out of billet 6061 T6 aluminum. This is a raw aluminum receiver with a bead-blasted surface. It is compatible with Glock 19/17 magazines. The AR9 80% receiver features an integrated trigger guard, flared magazine well, and threaded bolt catch and takedown pin detent holes. Although the receiver has no last round bolt hold open mechanism, it is still possible to install a standard bolt catch for locking the bolt back manually. This receiver comes with a magazine release installed and the safety markings engraved. The Matador Arms AR9 80% receiver can be used with all standard AR-9 blowback uppers and can be finished in most AR-15/AR-9 jigs (contact the manufacturer for details).
Matador Arms AR9 80% 9mm lower receiver is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $154.99. There are also options to buy a pack of five receivers for $749.99 ($149.99 each) or a pack of ten for $1,449.99 ($144.99 each).
As you know, 80% lower receivers are not considered firearms and can be delivered to your doorstep without any paperwork, however, it’s always a good idea to double-check your local laws in case if they differ or if by the time you are reading this article they have changed. Right now Matador Arms is not shipping these receivers to the states of Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and the District of Columbia.
